SAFETY AND HAZMAT LINKS

U.S. Army Safety CenterYou've heard about the "POV Toolbox". Now you can download it and learn the latest from the proponent of Army Safety. This is one site that no leader should pass up......

Hazardous Materials Information System....I'm going to let them do the talking on this one. Here's a quote: The Hazardous Materials Information System (HMIS) is a Department of Defense (DoD) automated system developed and maintained by the Defense Logistics Agency. HMIS is the central repository for Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for the United States Government military services and civil agencies. It also contains value-added information input by the service/agency focal points. This value-added data includes HAZCOM warning labels and transportation information. HMIS provides this data for hazardous materials purchased by the Federal Government through the Department of Defense (DoD) and civil agencies. The system assists Federal Government personnel who handle, store, transport, use, or dispose of hazardous materials..........

HazMat On The Web....Here's a great source of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). If you aren't aware of this, they are required to be posted in all work areas where various chemicals, solutions, etc... are used or stored. You'll find quite a few downloadable forms in .pdf format (Adobe Acrobat). Note: If you don't have the Adobe Acrobat Reader, it's free, it's reliable, and there is a link provided on site..........

Vermont SIRI Web Site....Here's another great HazMat source of MSDS Sheets, sponsored by Safety Information Resources, Inc. of Vermont. You'll also find an online library, complete with graphics and Power Point presentations..........

MSDSsolutions.com....I know there are quite a few references for MSDS sheets here, but each offers a little something that the others don't. My goal is that you not have to search repeatedly for simple information. Keep in mind that you'll have to register to access the MSDS', but it's free and simple to do. The site is simple enough that you'll get your information quickly and resourced at a level which ensures you will find the MSDS' you are trying to find.........

Increasing use of "The Army Link" has necessitated the need for me to upgrade from a "free to maintain" website, to one that now requires monthly fees to the provider. This included an upgrade of available bandwidth so that visitors to the site can continue it's use without interruption. I also reserved the domain http://www.thearmylink.com which ensures users of this site will always be able to locate it easily. The links below are to sponsors I am affiliated with in an effort to offset some of the cost. I have tried to choose those which will be of interest to visitors of this site. Rest assured, I will continue to maintain "The Army Link" for years to come. Our soldiers are always worth the time and effort!.......
