Operation Foot Locker -- The Mobile Military Brat Monument....Here's a quote from one of the pages on this site....."Operation Footlocker is a grassroots effort to celebrate the shared cultural identity of military brats -- a mobile memory project. OpFoot symbolizes the mobility of brat childhood. As such, it travels from one gathering of military brats to another--frequently to high school reunions, but also to more widely defined brat gatherings publicized in advance in local media. Brats come, pour over the contents of the footlocker set out for display, and frequently contribute their own items, registering them in the footlocker's logbook. Some brats choose to sit down on the spot and write out a favorite story, adding it to the Brat Memory Book which travels with the footlocker and has become a rich verbal tapestry of the brat experience" As you can see, quite a bit of work goes in to keeping this mobile monument to the Brat experience alive. I Am A Military Brat....Herer's a fairly new site that starts off "My hometown is anywhere, my friends are everywhere. I grew up with the knowledge that home is where the heart is and where the family is...with no dependence on the dwelling". The site deals primarily with Lajes High School in Azores, but includes links to other Military Brat sites as well. Increasing use of "The Army Link" has necessitated the need for me to upgrade from a "free to maintain" website, to one that now requires monthly fees to the provider. This included an upgrade of available bandwidth so that visitors to the site can continue it's use without interruption.
